Miss Billie Jean Osborne’s pride and joy was the Kentucky Opry Jr. Pros. She created this group strictly for the education arm of her vision. The Jr. Pros group range from ages 6 to 18. We have auditions every year. Each student receives forms of education in musical instruments, vocal training, stage presence, commercial music, music theory, musical history, and various forms of reading music and charts. Each Summer and Christmas season the group produces a 45 minute show to be the opening act for the Kentucky Opry. With the guidance of our instructors, they write this show from the ground up in weekly classroom sessions, and eventually stage rehearsals. 

We also give these wonderful and talented students time to shine in the form of 2 “Headliner Shows” each year. They produce a Spring show, and choose a theme of their choice. Each August, the students and instructors start working on their annual Halloween show. This has proved to be an extremely popular production. For more educational outreach, we have collaborated with the local dance studio and used students from it to add to the show for certain medleys and instrumentals.

At times, the students act as a feeder system to the Kentucky Opry. Certain musicians and vocalists are in the Kentucky Opry’s current cast. There have been numerous students involved with the program that have furthered their career in Nashville, TN, New York City, Orlando, FL, Cincinnati, OH, and toured across the country and world.
